Identity is who you are and it is what makes you different from others. Identity plays important parts in your life, sometimes identity are affected by peers, family or media. For me, identity is not about how you look like, what you wear or where you come from, but it is about being yourself no matters what others says about you. On the second week of school we had learn about identity and what define our own identity, ms.torie had read us a story about Verdi which is about a snake that doesn’t want to grow up to be green, old, lazy and boring. Through out the story he shows who he is through his action and so at the end he discovered that no matters what people says about him, he is best for being who he is.
I noticed that people identities changes when they get older, such as in middle school people identity changes because they start to be more mature, responsible (I’m not so sure for responsibility) and so they mood start to changes as well as their behavior and the way they think about things. But no matter what, identity is what make you unique and most important of all, I learned that you should be who you are, don’t change your personality to try to fit in because if you do that you would’t know who is truly your friends and who is judging you from outside not the inside. Don’t judge yourself from what other people says about you and don’t let others stop you from being who you are or doing what you think is best because the greatest pleasure in life is to do what others say you cannot do.
Hi Panwa! >: ) I read your blog post and thought it was great! You explained thoroughly about what identity means in your own words and what you think about it. You expressed your own opinions about what identity was. Also, you talked about the time in class when Ms. Torie read us a picture book called "Verdi", which was about identity and being ourselves. I also agree with what you said that identity is not about how others view us, but it is about being ourself and who we are. All in all, I really liked your blog post! It gave lots of details and I understood your views of identity. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Panwa! Your blog looks very colorful, I think that purple is a color that best suits you. Your header are really nice too, great job editing the pictures. As I read you blog entry about identity, I could see how you related the story "Verdi" to identity. Also, I totally agree that you shouldn't change yourself just to fit with others. I had actually experience this, but guess what, it was just as you said, I wasn't able to identify who was my true friends and who were just judging me only by the outside. You did a nice job explaining the word identity. I learned a lot of things from you blog entry. ^^
