Metacognition

Metacognition is thinking about your own thinking. The benefits of metacognition are that it teach us to simplify our thinking skills, activate and apply our prior knowledge and too think deeper. The first strategies of metacognition is called metacognitive conversation, this is when participants become aware of their mental activity and are able to describe and discuss it with others or to think aloud.
